Dear T.C.I. Customer...

French Weeks end this weekend, and I am sorry for them to be over so
quickly. We did excellent business last weekend, and I expect this weekend
to be the same. In my opinion, the food was excellent, and it was very
well received by our dinner guests last weekend.

The French menu includes a list of Appetizers. Soups, and Salads, a
list of Main Course dishes, a list of Sides, a list of Desserts, and a list
of French Wines. Two Fixed Price Options are offered. Option One provides
an appetizer, a main course, with one side, bread and butter, dessert, and
coffee or tea for $24.95. Option Two provides an appetizer, a main course,
with two sides, bread and butter, dessert, coffee or tea, and a glass of
French wine, all for $29.95.

Most guests last weekend chose one or the other of the fixed price
options. These offer exceptional value, and they provide very nice meals
with many combinations available. You may, however, order a la carte,
choosing only those items you want and paying only for those.

Main course items on the French menu include the following: Coq au
Vin-chicken cooked in red wine with onions and mushrooms. Cotes de Porc-
pork chops with a French sauce. Blanquette de Veau-a French stew with
tender veal, mushrooms, and onions in a rich white sauce. Truite Amandine-
Fresh trout in a sauce with almonds. Coquille St. Jacques-Sea scallops.
Maigret de Canard-Seared duck breast. And Petite Filet Mignon. Along with
your main course, you may choose your side or sides from a list which
includes several kinds of potatoes, French green beans, ratatouille, and a
wonderful cauliflower gratin.

The most popular French dessert is Chocolate Mousse, and Chef has
been making several batches each night. Also look for crepes with a
dessert filling, creme brulee, and an additional surprise from Chef.

We will not have live music this weekend to give customers who prefer
a quiet evening a Friday evening to enjoy. I will say that the bar area
was very full last week to enjoy music by Andrew Shingledecker. We will
add Andrew to our list of entertainers, but he is away touring some Asian
countries for a few weeks. We will book him again when he returns. Next
Friday, we will have Mark Garrick and Dave Serene, and we will have Chuck
Potthast and Lynne Jones on Friday, the 27th, I believe. That will leave
Friday, the 20th as another Friday evening for quiet dining. Note that
Saturdays are usually busy, but much quieter than Fridays, and for those
who do not like a crowd, Thursday is the perfect night.

We will have another special menu for St. Valentine's Day, and we
will also serve it on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the weekend before
the holiday. Yes, we will be open on Tuesday, February 14th. St.
Valentine's Day is one of my favourite times in the restaurant. We are
very busy, but the tables are mostly couples which are very easy to serve
well. We will offer pub dinners on the weekend along with our special fine
dining menu for St. Valentine's Day, but on Tuesday, we will offer only the
fine dining selections.

If you weren't in for a French meal last week, you may wish to come
this week. Really, the style of the food is not foreign to The Coventry
Inn, as our menu always has French influences. French Week is simply a
chance to try something different in Downtown Indiana on a January Weekend.
Everyone so far has really enjoyed the food and drinks.

                                  Your friend,
                                  Charles A. Runyan
